Friendswood Community Education to offer summer camps

Friendswood Independent School District Community Education has announced summer camps for children age 4 through 14.

Most of the camps will take place on Monday through Thursday, June 4-28 at Bales Intermediate School, located at 211 Stadium Lane.

Camp classes for students interested in art will include Adventures in Art, Artistic Stepping Stones, Arts and Crafts, Beginning Guitar, Camp Rockstar, Color Theory Painting, Craft Club, Creative Uses for Duct Tape, Doodle Jr., Doodler, Drawn2Art, Edible Art, Explore Printmaking, Fairy Crafts Camp, Felting and Fiber Arts, Filmmaking, Funtastic Crafts, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun-the Sequel, Guitar 101, Jewelry Making, Kid's Glass Painting, Knitting, Passion4Paint, Pint-Size Painter, Pint-Size Sculptor, Sculpting Basics, Start2Sculpt, Summer Fun Crafts, T-Shirt/Shoe Painting and Ukulele for Beginners.

Cooking classes will include Cakeworks for Kids, Candy Bouquet, Candy Making, Cookie-Licious, Edible Art, Fun with Bun and Short Order Cooks I and II.

For kids interested in dancing and athletics, the camp will feature basketball for beginners and intermediates, Bollywood dancing, cheer camp, dance/drill, flag football, floor hockey, Gym Rats, Just Dance, lacrosse, Olympics 101, tennis and volleyball.

There will also be classes offered about computers, programming and game design. These include Adventures in Alice; Adventures in Scratch; Bring Games to Life; Bugs, Bugs, Bugs; Camp Einstein CSI; Camp Einstein Engineering; Camp Einstein Science Camps; Create and Collaborate With Computers; Digital Storytelling; Dinos Rock; Express Yourself With Tech; Filmmaking, Lego Robotics I, II and III; Movie Magic; Mix It Up Science; and Science Magic.

Miscellaneous programs available include Creative Problem Solving, Jumpstart Kindergarten, Make It Facts (math readiness), Manners Matter, Red Cross Babysitting and Write Stuff.
