The following events are scheduled to take place during the upcoming days in and around Pearland:

SATURDAY 12
Hibiscus Show
The Space City chapter of the American Hibiscus Society will hold its second hibiscus show and sale of the 2012 season 1-4 p.m. at the Nessler Center, Wings of Heritage Room, 2010 Fifth Ave. North, Texas City. Enjoy a variety of blooms on display, get tips from chapter members and get a chance to take home plants at a plant raffle.  Free and open to the public. Visit www.spacecityahs.org.

Car Seat CheckUp
Make sure your child is safe and secure by dropping by Pearland Emergency Medical Services' free car seat check-up 8:30 a.m.-noon. at Pearland Station 5, 3100 Kirby Drive, Pearland. 'Cheaper by the Dozen': Watch a hilarious, heartwarming tale based on the real-life exploits of turn-of-the-century efficiency pioneer Frank Gilbreth 7:30 p.m. at the Pearl Theater, 14803 Park Almeda Drive, Houston.
