Pearland awarded for financial transparency
The city of Pearland has recently been honored with an award from the Texas Comptroller Leadership Circle.
The Silver Award, which was given to recognize Pearland as a high achiever in online transparency with its finances, may be received if financial records are available to the public, reliable spending documents are shown, and the online data is presented in a user-friendly manner.
According to the press release, Claire Bogard, finance director, said, “Financial responsibility is everybody’s business and Pearland residents are due the opportunity to review how tax dollars are being used to deliver services at any given time.”
Through Pearland's online system, community members may view the city budget, quarterly financial updates, along with many other items. To view these details or learn more, visit www.cityofpearland.com.
