Pearland strives to keep city free of cigarette litter
Keep Pearland Beautiful will continue its “Don’t Leave Your Butt Behind” cigarette litter awareness campaign beginning at noon on Feb. 25.
The campaign will target five intersections, or transition points, in the city. Volunteers 13 and older will go out and pick up cigarette butts at these designated intersections.
Volunteers will meet at 3523 Liberty Drive. The first 30 to arrive will receive special gifts. Last year 23 volunteers picked up 12,200 butts in a two-hour period.
