Temporary lane changes take effect at Main Street and McHard
Temporary lane changes at Highway 35 and McHard started today.
Eastbound and westbound traffic will be shifted to the northern half of the intersection on the new pavement. At that time the southern half of the old intersection will be demolished in preparation for the new pavement.
The new intersection pavement should be complete by the end of the week and all traffic returned to normal, weather permitting.
The new pavement will use a fast-curing concrete that will allow traffic to return within four days of the pour.
Workers, equipment and material suppliers will be working in close proximity to traffic lanes, which may require momentary delays to traffic crossing through the intersection. Drivers are asked to exercise caution.
