Pearland nurse, Memorial anesthesiology group blamed for brain damage
A Pearland nurse, a Houston doctor and a Memorial anesthesiology group are being sued after a patient says he sustained brain damage during surgery.
Wallace Mendelson filed a lawsuit on Dec. 14 in Harris County District Court against Alejandro Rosas, M.D.; Sandy Esquivel, of Pearland; and Memorial-area Greater Houston Anesthesiology, citing negligence.
Mendelson says on Dec. 2, 2009, he suffered permanent brain damage after undergoing surgery at The Methodist Hospital. According to the brief, the defendants allowed him to remain hypotensive and bradycardic, causing brain damage through oxygen deprivation.
Mendelson is seeking damages and court costs. He is being represented in the case by The Woodlands attorney Tommy Hastings.
