Pearland HS grad Drew DeKerlegand ties career high for The Citadel
Pearland High School graduate Drew DeKerlegand dominated for The Citadel in a 5-3 victory over Presbyterian in college baseball action on Sunday.
DeKerlegand tied his career high in hits, going 3-for-4 with a run scored.
Drew is third on the team with a .325 batting average and 29 RBIs.
DeKerlegand is a 2010 graduate of Pearland High School where he played baseball and football. He earned three letters on the Pearland baseball team and was named to the Texas all-state team in addition to being selected to the all-greater Houston preseason team prior to his senior campaign, 2009-2010. As a junior, 2008-2009, DeKerlegand was a member of Pearland's 5A regional championship team. He batted .431 to earn all-greater Houston and all-district honors. He was also named to the Houston 5A junior all-star team and earned the team's gold glove award. DeKerlegand played football for two seasons at Pearland. A business administration major at The Citadel, he is the son of Dean and Diane DeKerlegand.
