Pearland ISD ironing out qualifications for new superintendent
Pearland ISD officials are expected to have a final list tomorrow of what
qualifications the district and parents want to see in a new superintendent.
The district's school board met Wednesday night, including via Skype the
firm that is helping with the search, Ray and Associates. The purpose of the
meeting was to firm up a list of qualifications, an application, and a flyer
for the search.
They didn't quite finalize the list of qualifications because the board
first wants to consolidate and combine some ideas that are similar,
according to Pearland ISD spokesperson Renea Ivy Sims. "They looked at what
the focus groups had said, what they said, and they wanted to combine some
of the qualifications, on the survey, that people had to name their top 10
ideas on."
The list should be finished by tomorrow, Sims says, and is supposed to
reflect a balance of board members' ideas, recommendations from Ray and
Associates, and ideas from the public that officials heard during a recent series of
eight meetings.
