HS girls softball: Manvel falls to Friendswood
With two runs in the final inning, Friendswood walked off with a 6-5 win over Manvel in District 24-4A high school girls softball action on Tuesday.
“It was a heartbreaker," said Manvel coach Christa Williams. "But I was proud of the girls for the way they kept fighting back to tie it up.”
Lauren Massar picked up the win for the Mustangs.
The win ups Friendswood to 15-8 overall and 5-0 in district play.
Friendswood will next visit Santa Fe on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
The loss drops Manvel to 10-10 overall and 1-1 in district play.
Courtney Klinger homered for the Mavericks, while Makenzie Smajstrla added 3 RBIs.
Kristen Bosworth was on the mound for Manvel.
Manvel will next visit Santa Fe on Tuesday, April 12 at 6:30 p.m.
