Intersection work continues at SH-35 and Orange Street
The City of Pearland announced Wednesday that it is extending a closure at the intersection of SH-35 and Orange Street until this Saturday, Feb. 19 at 5 p.m.
Due to utility conflicts and unforeseen conditions, the west side of the intersection will remain closed to east- and westbound traffic while workers finish a storm sewer placement along the west side of SH-35.
This closure is not a full intersection closure and only affects a short section of Orange Street from the SH-35 intersection to Washington Avenue. Traffic will not be able to access Orange Street from the Valero gas station or the Office Depot parking lot.
City officials recommend that northbound traffic on SH-35 turn left on FM 518, then right onto Mykawa Road and follow it to Orange Street. Southbound traffic on SH-35 can turn right on McHard Road, then left onto Mykawa and continue to Orange Street.
Businesses in the area remain open and accessible, according to the city.
