Pearland alum aids Houston defense
Pearland HS 2008 grad Nick Saenz led the Houston defense in its 56-17 win over Memphis on Saturday.
Saenz led the Cougars with eight tackles on the day. He ranks fourth on the team this season with 49 tackles, including 1.5 for loss. He also has one interception with a return of 16 yards this season.
The junior defensive back is the son of Lesley Sciortino and Joel Saenz.
At Pearland HS, Saenz was ranked No. 86 nationally by Scout.com at defensive back. He was a member of the Houston Chronicle Area Top-110 team his senior season, and was a two-time, first-team All-District selection.
Houston will take on UCF at home on Saturday, Nov. 6. Game time is set for 7p.m. CST and can be seen on ESPN2.
