Hurricanes mascotsThe Pearland Hurricanes organization is sending freshman, junior and sophomore squads to the Bay Area Football League Super Bowl on Nov. 21 in Texas City.
The freshman (11-1), junior (12-0) and sophomore (12-0) squads hold National Division Championship Titles for their age groups. The games will be at Texas City High School Stadium.
The Hurricanes' Twisters girls squad is headed to drill competition Saturday, Nov. 14 at the Texas City stadium, where members hope to equal last year's accomplishments, in which they won Super-Sweepstakes, Best Choreography and No. 1 Overall awards.
Last month, the girls brought home third-place overall from the BAFL Cheer Competition at Moody Gardens.
Established five years ago, the nonprofit Pearland Hurricanes Youth Football and Drill & Cheer organization averages membership of about 160 youths. The Hurricanes have open registration once a year and register on a first-come, first-served basis. There are no tryouts and everyone is welcome.
The organization strives to maintain good sportsmanship, fairness and safety.
