PHS, DHS students experience democracy

Four students from Pearland and Dawson High Schools will participate in American Legion programs this June.
Adam Saunders and Rima Patel from Pearland were chosen to be American Legion Boys State delegates to Austin. Kevin Ramlal and Angelene Superable from Dawson will be representatives for the American Legion Auxiliary Bluebonnet Girls State program in Seguin.
As representatives, these students will learn about American politics firsthand by participating in mock governments. The students will vote to elect their peers to different offices and take part in sessions as legislative bodies, courts and law enforcement.
The students were nominated by schools staff based on their leadership, character and academic achievement.
