Police identify woman found dead at Westside center

Pearland police have identified a woman whose body was found Monday morning at the Westside Event Center.

The woman, Janice Rose-President, 52, of Houston was found dead at the center, which is in the 2100 block of County Place Parkway.

According to Lt. Onesimo Lopez, the woman was found by city parks department employees in the center’s restroom. The body was sent to the Galveston County Medical Examiner’s Office to determine cause of death.

“At this time there’s no indication of foul play,” Lopez said. “It seems (she died) of some pre-existing health condition."

He said it is believed the woman was at the center walking a trail for exercise.

Lopez said autopsy results usually take two weeks to come in and that the case will remain open until his department receives the official report.
