The opening of the northbound Texas 288 frontage road didn't happen today as project officials had hoped, postponed because of weather and other factors.
The result is you won't see that road open this week.
"The rain we had last week hurt us at the worst possible moment," said Skipper Jones, the city's manager for the Texas 288 work, in an e-mail message.
Rain today prevented workers from doing the striping.
Another thing that threw the planned opening off schedule is that the Texas Department of Transportation decided to use an asphalt binder that couldn't be installed at night.
